Guy has over 20 years’ experience in the UK and international oil and gas sector, specialising in finance, strategy and business planning, commercial and business development, and performance management in both corporate and operational environments.
He spent the first five years of his career in Ernst & Young’s energy services banking and capital markets division, before moving to HSBC where he project-managed a range of corporate transactions including IPOs and acquisitions for a number of clients in the oil and gas sector.
He subsequently joined independent oil and gas exploration and production company, Paladin Resources, where he held a number of senior positions including Head of Investor Relations, Treasury & Financial Planning Manager and Group Financial Controller. Guy played a key role in Paladin’s growth from a 12-person operation with a market capitalisation of £70 million in 2001 to a £1.2 billion company employing around 200 people, prior to its acquisition by Talisman Energy in 2006.
Guy spent the next four years with Talisman Energy in Calgary, initially as Assistant Treasurer, before progressing to the position of Manager of International Finance Services with responsibility for Talisman’s operations in Australia, South East Asia, Peru, Colombia, Poland, Kurdistan and Algeria.
In 2010, Guy joined Talisman’s UK management team as VP Commercial, Planning & Marketing, before moving into the role of Head of Business Development, Commercial & Strategy where he and his team successfully delivered a number of key business development opportunities in the UK business.
Guy is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and has an Honours degree in Economic History. He is currently undertaking an MBA at the University of Warwick and is also a Chartered Accountant.
